Frederick C. Finkle Jr.

Frederick C. Finkle Jr., 86 of Stanfordville, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2023 at his residence. He was born on September 28, 1936 to the late Fredrick and Dorothy (Scism) Finkle. A graduate of Stissing Mountain High School where he also served as president of the F.F.A while he was in school. After which he went to drive for Staats Dairy Transport for ten years and then he went to work for H.O. Penn as a diesel mechanic for over 30 years until his retirement. Fred was active in sports and was an avid bowler. He was a catcher for the Tri-State Baseball league and also enjoyed watching the New York Mets. He always enjoyed a good game of horseshoes as well.

On April 28, 1957 in Rensselaer, NY, he married Darra J. Dillinger and together they enjoyed  56 years of marriage until her passing in 2013.

Fred is survived by his three children; Mark and his wife Camille Finkle, Jeffrey Finkle and his wife Erin Gillen, and his son Bryan Finkle. His one granddaughter, Elizabeth Marie Finkle, and his sister Helen Bird.

In addition to his parents and wife Darra Finkle, he was also predeceased by his sister Carolyn Swart.

A time for sharing memories and offering condolences will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Peck & Peck Funeral Homes, 7749 S. Main Street, Pine Plains. Where a funeral service will be held on Sunday at 11:00 am, followed by interment in Stanford Cemetery.
