William Seymour

September 24, 1925 — January 1, 1989



William Seymour, 91 years old of Hillsdale, NY passed on June 9, 2017 at home.

He was born on September 24, 1925 in Stamford Connecticut and was the son of William and Charlotte (Frost) Seymour.

He served during the Korean War in the United States Army for two years.

Bill is pre-deceased by his first wife Ruth Moscow Seymour who died January 1989 and Helen Petith Seymour November 2013.

Survivors include his two sons, Stephen Seymour, and his wife Lisa, and their daughter Sarah of Wappingers Falls; John Seymour, and his wife Patricia, and their son Joshua of Palm Bay Florida; step children, Jay Petith, and his wife Linda of Stuyvesant Falls, NY and their two sons; and Sharon Torkilson of Peyton Colorado and her two sons.

Bill graduated from Carmel High school and Cornell university. He worked as a dairy farmer and in the Carmel post office for 21 years. He was an avid bee keeper for 80 years and enjoyed going to the farmers market to sell his honey. Bill loved spending time with his family and friends, and enjoyed traveling. He vacationed regularly in Myrtle Beach, Cape Cod and the Adirondacks.

He was an active member of the Grange, the VFW, the Young at Hearters and the Connecticut Genealogical Society.

Calling hours are at Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 8063 Rt. 22 Copake, NY on June 15, 2017, 3:00 to 7:00 pm.

Memorial services for Bill will be held at Hillsdale United Methodist church on June 16, 2017, 11:00AM, Route 22 & Rte. 23, Hillsdale, NY.

Internment will be on June 17th at Raymond Hill Cemetery in Carmel, NY.
