Virginia Mary Kirschner Heinsohn, 83, passed away peacefully at home in Rhinebeck, New York on November 6th, 2021. Born April 18th, 1938 in Bronx, New York, daughter of Elizabeth McCarthy and Arthur Kirschner. Virginia graduated from Pine Plains High School and attended Iona University. She had a passion for classical music, art, reading (loved Agatha Christie), needle work and traveled.
On April 21st, 1957 she married Erhard William Heinsohn who predeceased her in 2002. Virginia was a loving mother of three daughters and two sons-in-law, Phyllis, Laura and her husband Mike, Leslie and her husband Tony. She enjoyed flying her brother Bill’s airplane when she travelled with her daughter Phyllis to Lake Tahoe, hanging out with Laura and Mike at their campsite and exploring the coast of South Carolina with Leslie and Tony.
She is survived by her brother William Kirschner, her sister Susan Phelps as well as her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Virginia is now in heaven with her beloved sister Rita Dahl, and her two loving grandsons Jonathon and Christopher.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, November 12, 2021 at 10:00 am from St. Joseph’s Church, 15 N. Avenue, Millbrook. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bangall, New York.
