Virginia Ruth Boughton, 79 of Copake Falls, NY passed away on Tuesday May 5, 2015 at her residence.

She was born on September 8, 1935 in Sharon, CT.

Virginia attended Roeliff Jansen Central School and later received her degree as a licensed practical nurse from St. Margaret's School in Albany, NY.

She had been employed for over 30 years as the food service coordinator at Berkshire Meadows in Gt. Barrington, MA until her retirement.

She enjoyed annual camping trips to Maine with her family and winter trips to Florida. Most of all she adored spending time with her granddaughters and great granddaughter.

Virginia was a member of the Church of St. John in the Wilderness and a honorary member of the former Copake Fire Co. #2 in Copake Falls.

On October 2, 1955 she married Frederick H. Boughton. He pre deceased her in 2011.

She is survived by her beloved daughters and their spouses, Deborah and Reginald Crowley and Donna and Ralph Platt both of Copake Falls. She also leaves her granddaughters, Regina Shea of Copake Falls, Kelly Kline of Greenport, NY Jessica Platt and Kaitlyn Platt, both of Copake Falls and her great granddaughter, Summer Shea. In addition she leaves a sister, Carol Bird of Rhinebeck, NY and her beloved dog, Cosmo.

Friends are invited and may call on Wednesday May 6, 2015 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 8063 State Route 22 in Copake NY.

Funeral services will be celebrated on Thursday May 7, 2015 at 11 AM from the Church of St. John in the Wilderness in Copake Falls with the Rev. John Thompson officiating.

Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
