Victor A. Stang Sr

Victor A. Stang Sr., 76 a longtime resident of Columbia County passed away on Thursday August 11, 2016 in the comfort of his home amongst his family after a long battle with cancer.

He was born on July 28, 1940 in Copake, NY a son of the late Clayton and Loretta (Scutt) Stang Sr.

Victor was retired from the Taconic Telephone Company where he had been employed for over 42 years.

On July 5, 1959 in Copake he married Shirley (Mylock) Stang who survives him.

Surviving besides his wife of 57 years are his children and their spouses, Victor Stang Jr. and wife Cathy, Brenda Schneeberger and husband Mark and Barry Stang and wife Laurene. He also leaves ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren along with nieces and nephews.

He was pre deceased by his siblings, Clayton Jr., Richard and Darlene.

Private services were held on Monday at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home in Copake with Deacon Jackie Jefferson officiating.

Interment followed in the Copake Cemetery.
