Trudy L. Gildersleeve

Trudy Lou Gildersleeve (74) passed away at St. Peters Hospital in Albany, NY on Palm Sunday, 4/5/2020. Trudy was born on October 5, 1945 in Chatham, NY, one of seven siblings to mother, Dora Seaver and father, Bernard Reilly.
Trudy was a lifelong, local resident of New York, where she married the love of her life, U.S. Marines Weapons Instructor, Leon (Gil) King Gildersleeve. They celebrated 50 wonderful years together while raising a loving family of four sons: Brian (Barb) Gildersleeve (Schodack, NY), Kris (Sherry) Gildersleeve (Germantown, NY), Shane Gildersleeve (Chatham, NY) and Duane Gildersleeve (NC).
Trudy’s strong faith in God and unwavering love for family and friends will remain her eternal legacy as her life was led in faithful purpose, kindness, love, and compassion for all. Trudy was a beautiful soul who shared her special gifts with family and friends alike and was a person of unique character, humbling faith, perseverance, love, and gentle strength. Trudy worked at Eden Park and Evergreen Commons nursing homes, sharing her kindness with those in need.
Trudy was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a devoted, lifelong friend to many.
Trudy is survived by her mother, Dora Seaver (Ghent, NY), brothers, Bob (Charlotte) Reilly (Augusta, GA), Joe Reilly (Newburgh, NY), David (Martha) Reilly, Knightdale, NC and sister, Catherine Bromiley (Knightdale, NC), her four sons listed above and her 14 beautiful grandchildren, Ryan (Christine) Gildersleeve, Matthew Gildersleeve, Samantha Gildersleeve, Kimberly Gildersleeve, Michael Gildersleeve, Christina Gildersleeve, Jessica Schweitzer, Joshua (Nicole) Gildersleeve, Kyrstine Gildersleeve, Brandon Sherman, Tyler Sherman, Brad Gildersleeve, Sean Gildersleeve, Brandon Gildersleeve and her 8 adorable great grandchildren Regan Gildersleeve, Delilah Gildersleeve, Reagan & Avery Gildersleeve, Brad & Reid Gildersleeve and Sophie & Lola Gildersleeve as well as many nieces and nephews and lifelong friends.
Trudy is predeceased by her husband, Leon Gildersleeve, father, Bernard Reilly, sister, Jane Monteleone and brother, George Reilly.
As her final act of kindness, Trudy wished to donate her remains in the hope that she may help others through research.
A celebration of her life for family and friends will be arranged at a later date. There will be no calling hours.
