Theresa Schell

Pine Plains, NY- Theresa Schell, 86, passed away peacefully Saturday, August, 26, 2017 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, NY surrounded by family and friends.

She was born on April 20, 1931 in Manhattan.  Theresa is the daughter of Michael and Mary (Sexton) Donelan.  Theresa was a homemaker who focused on taking care of her loving husband, children, and grandchildren.

In her spare time, she loved shopping, painting, and gardening.  She was also a member of Post 510 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and also was the president of Post 275 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.  Theresa was very proud of her Irish heritage and loved listening to Irish music and dancing.

On February 3, 1951, Theresa married the love of her life Joseph T. Schell Sr.. Theresa and Joseph were happily married for 66 years.  Joseph survives her at home.

In addition, to her loving husband, Theresa is survived by her children, Joseph T. Schell Jr. of Rhinebeck, NY and Catherine Mary Schell of Newburyport, MA.  She also has three grandchildren; Veronica of Millbrook, NY, Joseph and his wife Rebecca of Rhinebeck, NY, and Matthew of Rhinebeck, NY.  Theresa also has six great grandchildren Tyler, Brittany, Madison, Jaedon, Riley, and Connor that she loved very much.

She was predeceased by two brothers, William M. Tendy and Michael Donelan and a sister Elizabeth Martinez.  Theresa was very proud of her brother William’s accomplishments and spoke of him often.

Calling hours are Thursday, August 31, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, at St. Anthony’s Church, 68 Poplar Ave. Pine Plains, NY

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM on Friday, September, 1st, from St. Anthony’s Church, Pine Plains with Fr. Kent Wilson, officiating.

Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Pine Plains, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony’s Church, 68 Poplar Avenue, Pine Plains, NY.
