Tammy S. Murphy, 59, of Ancram, passed away on January 18, 2025 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was born on March 20, 1965 in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. The daughter of the late Martin Stickle and Dorothy (Millius) Farrell. 

Tammy was a homemaker who dedicated herself to her family. She had a love for the outdoors, her property and horses. Including her three horses, Sadie, LB and Sissy some of which she had for over 25 years. She enjoyed caring for the horses along with the rest of her “Mini Barnyard” of animals at home and tending to her gardens. She was a leader of the local 4H Program, Barn Buddies which she had a big passion for. With her son and grandchildren she enjoyed going fishing and being outside.

On September 17, 2017 she married the love of her life Christopher Murphy, who survives her at home. Together they enjoyed racing at Lebanon Valley and maintaining their property. Even through her sickness she couldn’t be slowed down. 

Tammy is survived by her loving husband, Chris Murphy. Her children, Devon Rueger and his wife Lizzie. Candice Rueger, and Elizabeth "EB" Murphy. Her two grandchildren, Noah Proper and Devon Rueger. Her mother, Dorothy Farrell, brother James Farrell and her uncle, whom she devotedly cared for William Millius.

A celebration of Tammy’s life will be held on Saturday February 8th at the Ancram Fire Department from 12pm to 3pm. Flowers are welcomed to be sent to the firehouse. Memorial donations in Tammy's memory may be made to the Ancram Fire Company, PO Box 8, Ancram, NY 12502.
