Steven M. Dam, 52, of Pine Plains passed away peacefully on January 25, 2022 at home. He was the son of Allen J. Dam and the late Diane A. Dam. Steven graduated from Pine Plains Central School and started working at the Post Office as a carrier. Then he went to deliver for Freedom Propane and then worked for Green Biar in Millbrook.
Steven was a diehard sports fan, who loved the New York Giants, Yankees and the Alabama Basketball team. Beginning when he was in school Steve had a love for baseball and softball. He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. His father finally convinced him a few years ago to take up golf, and he instantly fell in love and played in many pool leagues around the area. He also enjoyed going to Nascar races and made several trips to Dover, Watkins Glen, and the Poconos. He was also a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, and the Millerton Gun Club. He will be remembered for his helping nature and would selfishly help anyone in need and was a supporter of the Giving Box.
Steven is survived by his children, Michele and Michael Dam. His father, Allen Dam, brother, Gerald Dam, and nephew Christopher Dam. In addition to his great nephew, Carter, Godchildren, Camden and Jack Gerace-Hague, and Rebekah Lamont. In addition to his children's mother, Michele Gerace-Hague.
A memorial service will be held on February 12, 2022 at 10:00am from Valley Community Church, 2260 Salt Point Turnpike, Clinton Corners, NY 12514. Donations in Steven’s memory may be made to the family, or thru go fund me
