Shirley Elizabeth Rivard

Millerton - Shirley Elizabeth Rivard, 54, of Millerton, NY, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at her residence after a long and brave battle with cancer.

She was born on August 20, 1956 in Sharon, Connecticut, the daughter of Arthur and Bertha (McCauley) Tanner.

Shirley was an amazing person who selflessly dedicated her time to taking care of others. She recently retired from Taconic DDSO in Wassaic, NY after serving them for thirty four years.

Shirley is survived by her husband Raymond; daughters Dawn, Nicole and Desiree; seven sisters and two brothers; granddaughters Alexis and Makenzie; grandsons Gamal and Conor, as well as several cousins and loving friends.

A memorial calling hour will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 from 2 to 3 pm at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 7749 S. Main St., Pine Plains. A memorial service will begin at 3 pm with Rev. Henry Prause officiating.

Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations are requested to the American Cancer Society, Memorial Processing, 6725 Lyons St., East Syracuse, NY 13057.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 7749 S. Main St., Pine Plains, NY.
