Shelia M. Rogers, 75, passed away holding her daughter’s hand peacefully on June 11, 2024 at Lutheran Care Center. She was born on July 29, 1948 in Rome, New York to the late Claude and Lena (Pinti) Rogers. She worked as a CNA for a number of years and also did various manufacturing jobs. Shelia was dedicated and worked tirelessly to provided for her only daughter Noel. She loved walks and was always “on the go” and ready for an adventure. She also loved to dance, listen to music, draw, play Yahtzee and Bowl.
Over the last 13 years she battled many health challenges which she fought with courage and determination. Even in the worst of times, she never stopped fighting. This provided her family the ability to empathize with many different kinds of people. A lifelong skill that is a gift she passed on for generations to come. She also expected nothing, gave her all, and worked for everything. Shelia was an incredibly strong woman.
Shelia is survived by her loving daughter, Noel Starzyk and her husband Richard, of Milan. Her three grandchildren, Ashley, Isabella, and Richard Pierce Starzyk. She is also survived by four sisters.
In addition to her parents, she was also pre-deceased by her sister Mary Beck.
Graveside services were held privately at Evergreen Cemetery in Pine Plains.
