Shawna Westfall, 25 of Copake was born on May 16 th 1994 to Martin and Patricia (Hart) Westfall in Sharon Connecticut.
She was a Daisy and Brownie in the Girls Scouts of America. She was also in the Hoofers 4H group and showed her Calf at the Chatham Fair and she would later train the calves for the fair.
She was baptized at the Ancramdale Presbyterian Church and had her First Communion at St. Bridget’s Church, Copake Falls NY.
Shawna was a 2012 Graduate of Taconic Hills High School and played on the volleyball team and went through the CNA program there.
She was engaged to Joe Vossler of Copake and they were eagerly planning their wedding for October 2020.
It was her greatest joy in life to share many good times together with Joe and her family.
Shawna worked several years at the Church Street Deli in Copake NY and more recently at The Swiss Hutte in Hillsdale NY and at the Troutbeck Conference Center in Amenia NY.
She loved all animals especially dogs, and most especially Wheatie, her parents Wheaten Terrier. She dreamed of becoming a Marine Biologist and had a fascination for dolphins.
She was a nature lover and liked going to the woods on 4 wheelers with her fiancé Joe. And she liked working with her father outdoors in his property management business.
Shawna loved country music and enjoyed going to concerts.
She was especially proud of completing the New Hope Manor Rehab Program in June. She was cited for being consistently punctual, perfect attendance, and excellent participation.
Shawna leaves an immense void that can only be filled by her loving memory in the hearts of her Parents Marty and Pat Westfall and her brothers Scott and James. Her fiancé Joe Vossler, Her Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends and Co-Workers.
There will be a Celebration of her Life on Saturday, September 14th at the Parish of Our Lady of Hope, 8074 State Route 22, Copake Falls, NY 12517, Deacon Al Manzella officiating, with a time of visitation beginning at 10 am and a Service beginning at 11 am with a reception following in the church hall.
Interment will take place later at the convenience of the family.
