Sharon K. Cooper

November 7, 0039 — March 2, 2025

Stanfordville,NY

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon Cooper, who died at home in the early morning hours of Sunday, March 2, 2025. She was 85 years old and had fought cancer for nearly two years. She was born in Des Moines, Iowa to the late Howard and Kathryn (Collins) Hollingsworth. Sharon was a beautician who owned and operated Sherry’s, in Clinton Corners for many years. Most folks never knew her real name wasn’t Sherry.

Although her accomplishments in life were many, her two great loves were her family and her friends and her finest moments were spent in the company of loved ones. The kids were her favorite. She was truly one of a kind and had a knack for making each one of us feel important and special. She lived her life on her own terms and with style and grace and we are better people for having known and loved her. She was truly the glue that bonded together the Cooper and Hollingsworth families. We will never forget the sparkle in her eyes nor the warmth in her beautiful smile. She was so special. Please hold her dearly in your thoughts and prayers today.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Jack Cooper of Stanfordville; her Brother Bob Hollingsworth of Hyde Park; her Sisters in law Laura Hollingsworth of Wappingers Falls and Mary Cooper of Sharon Station, Ct.; Paternal cousins Mike Fern of Schroon Lake and Dawn Miller of Fishkill; and her loving Nephews and Nieces, Scott and Julieann Hollingsworth of Clinton Corners; Rob and Tammy Cooper of Millerton; Kelly (Hollingsworth) and Barry Muller of Wappingers Falls; Jimmy and Kim Cooper of Ancram; Tim and Sara Hollingsworth of Oswego, Ill.; Kathy Cooper of Melbourne, Fla.; Meg (Hollingsworth) Myers of Hyde Park; and Liz Cooper of East Hampton, Ct. Many great nieces and nephews also mourn her loss.

Predeceased by her parents, parents in law Paul and Mary Cooper, Brother Butch Hollingsworth, Brother in law Bob Cooper and many Aunts and Uncles.

A Celebration of her Life is being planned for May at the Poughkeepsie Yacht Club. All family and friends are invited and the exact date and time will be posted here.
