Sarah Dorothy Benton

Sarah Dorothy Benton, 49 a former longtime resident of Copake, NY passed away on Sunday January 10, 2016 at Vassar Brothers in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Sarah was born on December 23, 1966 in Hudson, NY the only child of the late Talcott and Carolyn (Martin) Benton.

She was a graduate of Taconic Hills Central School in 1988 and had been previously employed as an assembler with COARC in Mellenville, NY.

Sarah was a member of the Church of St. John in the Wilderness in Copake Falls, NY where she enjoyed volunteering for their many church functions. She was also a member of the former Cullin Chapter #365, Order of the Eastern Star in Hillsdale, NY. Sarah enjoyed attending COARC social functions as well as skiing, bowling and horseback riding.

Survivors include an aunt, Amelia Martin and several cousins to include Randy Martin, Richard Martin, Russell Martin and Cathy Davis. She also leaves her extended church family.

Friends are invited and may call on Saturday January 16, 2016 from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 8063 State Route 22 in Copake, NY.

A Service of Remembrance will also be held on Saturday at 11:00 from the funeral home with the Rev. John Thompson, Rector of the Church of St. John in the Wilderness officiating.

Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Copake Falls, NY.
