Robert W. Taylor died August 27, 2015 at the Sharon Health Care Center. He was 74.
Bob Taylor was born on July 24, 1941 to his parents, Robert R and Hildur B Taylor. He served in the Navy from 1961-1965, as a part of the U.S. Naval Air Forces. He was a crew member on a P-3 Orion aircraft, serving in the Vietnam War. He graduated from Penn State in 1968 with Bachelors in Business. Following his undergraduate studies, he earned his M.B.A in 1970 from the University of Rhode Island. Following a courtship, he married Joan C Podris in 1970. Together with his wife, they moved to Wisconsin, where he was employed by the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point until 1978 as a Business Manager for the Housing Department. In 1978 he moved with his family to Ancramdale, NY and took ownership of Deuel's Home Center in Pine Plains, NY. Over the years he was active in a number of organizations including The Optimist's Club, The Pine Plains Lions Club, and Boy Scouts Troop 45.
Bob is survived by his wife Joan of Ancramdale, NY; his sons Jeremy (Judy) Taylor of Clifton Park, NY; Joshua (Sofia) Taylor of Alexandria, VA; and Scott (Helen) Taylor of New York, NY; and Grandchildren Eli, Evie, and Elsa Taylor. His brother Fredrick Taylor predeceased him.
There are no calling hours. The family will have a private celebration of his life.
