Robert W. Streeter, 88, of Copake, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025 at Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington after a short illness. He was born on August 9, 1936 in Great Barrington, the son of William and Myrtle (Archambeau) Streeter. In 1955, Robert graduated from Roeliff Jansen High School and was drafted into the United States Army. After his service, he went to work for the Paper mill in Ancram as a Millwright. A career that would span four decades until his retirement. He had a love of photography, hunting, cooking, woodworking and could fix anything.

Growing up around Copake he was a wealth of information and endless stories when it came to local history. He was quite a story teller! With his son he enjoyed attending Nascar racing and also rail fanning. For over 50 years he has lived in Taconic Shores and has gained so many friends that became like family. Robert was well respected and loved by many.

He is survived by his son and daughter in law, Michael and Sandra Streeter.

In 2017, he was predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia (Link) Streeter. He is also predeceased by his siblings, David Streeter, Gail Parvin and Holly Plummer.

Robert’s wishes were that no formal services be held. Inurnment will take place privately in the West Copake Cemetery. Donations in Robert’s memory may be made to the Columbia Greene Humane Society, 111 Humane Society Rd, Hudson, NY 12534.
