Copake - Robert C. Raycraft, 70, a longtime resident of Copake died on Saturday, January 14, 2012.
He was born on May 2, 1941 in Ossining, NY, the son of the late Frank K. and Irene (Bigelow) Raycraft.
He attended Dover Plains Schools.
Mr. Raycraft honorably served in the United States Army from 1963 until 1965.
In 1965, he became the owner of Ancram Farm Supply. In 1967, he moved to Hillsdale where he operated Midway Farm Equipment for 35 years. Robert was involved in New York State Tractor Pulls, and in the mid 1980's, was named tractor puller of the year. He ran an Allis Chalmers D21 Super Stock called "Mama's Thoroughbred" from 1977 to 1990.
Later in life he became an avid supporter of healthy eating, and was involved with Reiki, the healing touch.
Mr. Raycraft is survived by his wife, Sandra Raycraft, a son, Robert C. Raycraft and his wife Amy of Santee, CA; a daughter, Letitia Kidder and her husband Charles of Hermiston, OR; four grandchildren, Jacob and Matthew Raycraft, and Stephen and James Furches; two sisters, Barbara Dutton of Dover Plains, NY; Margaret Way of Dover Plains, NY; a brother, Frank Raycraft, Jr. of Housatonic, MA; as well as many nieces nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Jacqueline Emilino.
