Richard P. Schwarze

Stanfordville, NY - Richard P. "Dick" Schwarze, 82, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at home.

He was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on October 27, 1928 the son of the late Joseph F. and Rose (Mulcahy) Schwarze.

He was a 1946 graduate of the Pine Plains high School.

Mr. Schwarze was owner and operator of the Schwarze Family Farm.

He was a member of the Dairymen's League, avid hunter, fisherman, Mets and Giants Fan. He played in the City of Poughkeepsie Softball League for the Schmaling Glass Team. He enjoyed his chickens, the garden and especially his sun flowers.

He was a Devoted Catholic with a Strong Faith. His loving family brought him "Home" to care for him in his final weeks. On September 28, 1952 at St. Joseph's Church in Clinton Corners, NY he married Mary A. (Smith) Schwarze. She survives him at home.

In addition to his loving wife Mary, survivors include three sons Peter T. and his wife Shari Schwarze of Poughkeepsie, NY; Mark R. and his wife Lois Schwarze of Poughkeepsie, NY; and Timothy J. Schwarze of Pawling, NY; five grandchildren, Kelli, Ryan, Patrick, Megan and Chelsea; a brother, Paul E. Schwarze of Clinton Corners, NY.

He was predeceased by a son, William S. Schwarze in 1987, a daughter-in-law, Stephanie L. Schwarze in 2011, two brothers, Robert and Vincent P. Schwarze.

Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at the Peck & Peck Funeral Home South Main St. Pine Plains, NY 12567.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Bangall, NY, Fr. John Bida officiating.

Interment will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Bangall, NY.
