Richard H. Cleveland Sr. aka Dick, or Pop, of North Hillsdale passed away Friday the 12th of February of natural causes at his home. He had been battling health issues for several years.
Richard was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather (Poppa) and great grandfather, whose love and generosity was unwavering. He has touched the lives of so many with his kind words and warm heart. He served during the Korean war in the United States Navy. Dick owned the Gulf station in Hillsdale for many years, but was a truck driver at heart.
Richard is remembered by his six children, Sharon, Karen, Richard Jr., Randy, Danny, Carrie and their spouses. As well as sixteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Carolyn Cleveland, his grandson Randy Jr., and great granddaughter Faith Cleveland.
At the wishes of Richard there will be no formal services. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations in Richard’s memory may be made to the Copake Community Rescue Squad for all of their dedication and assistance over the years.
