Richard J. Carroll, 76 of Lake Amenia Rd. in Amenia, NY passed away on Sunday August 7, 2011 at his residence.
He was born on February 4, 1935 in Sharon, CT a son of Florence (Brunese) Carroll of Amenia and the late John J. Carroll.
Richard was a self employed landscaper and also involved in the scrap metal business.
He was an avid outdoorsman and a devoted fan of the New York Yankees, New York Giants and NASCAR.
Surviving besides his mother are four brothers, John Jr., Alan, Philip and William all of Amenia; two sisters, Jean Leggett of Amenia and Ursula Robertson of Largo, FL. He also leaves an uncle, William Brunese of Millerton, NY, an aunt, Arietta Carroll of Amenia along with several nieces and nephews.
Along with his father he was pre - deceased by his brothers, Thomas Carroll and Joseph Carroll Sr.
Friends are invited and may call on Wednesday August 10, 2011 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 8063 State Rt. 22 in Copake, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday August 11, 2011 at 10:00 AM from the Immaculate Conception Roman Cathlic Church, Rt. 22 in Amenia.
Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
