Phyllis M. Miller, 88, of Pine Plains, passed away on March 27, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving and devoted family. She was born on September 16, 1935 in South Amenia, to the late Clarence and Ethel (Hunt) Decker.
Phyllis was a dedicated mother, who devoted her life to her children. She never had a drivers license, yet was able to always get where she needed to go. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. The decorations were put up in October and stayed up until middle of February. She loved it so much, her trees remained up year round and would be decorated according to the Season. She loved old time country music and was known to be a QVC Queen. Above all else, family was everything to her.
Phyllis is survived by her five children, Patricia (Bruce) Hall, Pamela (Steve) Georgiou, Peter (Angela) Murphy, Paula Humphries and Paul (Ronda) Murphy. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and her close friend and “adopted” daughter, Sheila Imperato, as well as her sister Katherine Barney, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her two husbands, John Murphy and Clyde Miller, grandson, John Murphy, two son in laws, Bruce Humphries and Richard Eastwood, in addition to her four brothers and one sister.
A graveside service will be held on May 4, 2024 at 1:00pm from Evergreen Cemetery, Pine Plains. The family wishes to thank Hudson Valley Hospice, for their fantastic care and support of both Phyllis and her family. The family says without their care and guidance it would have been impossible to honor her wish to remain home during her time of need. For that the family will forever be grateful. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to Hudson Valley Hospice, 374 Violet Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
