Pine Plains, NY - Olaf R. Berg, 89, passed away peacefully at home on January 1, 2017.
Olaf was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 4, 1927 to the late Olaf Johannes and Anna Marie (Henriksen) Berg, who immigrated from Denmark in 1921.
He served with the United States Marine Corps during WW II.
He worked for Gulf Oil for 25 years as a terminal manager.
Olaf was married to Marilyn (Anderson) Berg from 1957 - 1981 and they raised four children on Long Island. When he retired, Olaf moved to Florida, where he married Grayce Cowley, who predeceased him in 2013.
Olaf moved back to NY in 2014 to reside with his daughter Nancy and son-in-law Ken.
Olaf is survived by four children, a son, Roy of Star Lake, NY; a daughter Nancy House and husband Ken of Pine Plains, NY; a daughter, Laura Capone and husband Ralph of Lenexa, KS; a son, Glen and wife Jessica of W. Babylon, NY;
Seven grandchildren, Nicole, Melissa, Brianna, Jake, Raine, Reece and Alex and great-granddaughter, McKenna.
Also surviving is his stepdaughter, Carol Seay and husband Sam, ex-wife Marilyn, a nephew Paul and nieces Karen and Terry.
Olaf was predeceased by a sister, Grethe, a niece Linda, a nephew Ric and a stepson Richard.
A heartfelt thank you to those who helped care for Olaf, especially Mary, Deb and Hospice.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, January 10, at Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 7749 South Main St. Pine Plains, with Pastor Jackie Jefferson, officiating.
A reception will follow at Nancy's home.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Olaf's name to Dutchess County Hospice, 374 Violet Ave, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
