Maureen A. Weaver

Maureen A. Weaver, 78 of Chatham, gained her angel wings on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at St. Peter’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 9, 1945 in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. The daughter of the late Edwin and Mabel (Braig) Glynn.

Upon graduation from Roeliff Jansen School in 1963, she went on to study horticulture and floral design at Cobleskill College. She went on to get a job in Syracuse as a floral designer. After the passing of her father in the 80’s, she became a substitute rural postage carrier for his route. As a lover of flowers and gardening she worked in the most recent years at Country Caretakers in Canaan, NY. Over the years her coworkers became like family

On June 3, 1972 in Copake, Maureen married Russell Weaver, the love of her life. They met just the year before; it was love at first sight. “Mo” as she was known to her family and friends, was strong willed, selfless and always put others needs ahead of her own. When she took time for herself, she loved Hallmark movies, reading, and her animals. Mo was an active member in her church and volunteered as much as possible. For years she was a driver for Meals on Wheels.

Mo is survived by her loving husband, Russell Weaver. Her three devoted sons, Shawn Weaver, Gareth (Jennifer) Weaver, and Scott (Katherine) Weaver. Her two grandchildren, Olive & Adeline Weaver. In addition to her border collie, Tia.

A time for sharing memories and offering condolences will be Wednesday evening, 4:00 to 6:00, June 14, 2023 at Peck & Peck Funeral Homes, 8063 Route 22, Copake, New York. A funeral service will be held on Thursday morning at 11:00, from the North Hillsdale United Methodist Church, CR- 21 Extension, North, Hillsdale. Interment will follow in Hillsdale Cemetery.
