Ancram, NY - Marjorie M. Boothby, 83, of Ancram passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2016.
She was born May 27, 1932 in Hudson, NY; she was the daughter of Guy A. Boice and Edna Louck-Boice. After graduating from Roeliff Jansen Central School in 1949 she worked for the Copake Telephone Co and IBM.
Marjorie was predeceased by her husband, Robert Boothby.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (William) Hunt of Ancram; a son, George (Amy) Boothby of Kinderhook; a brother John (Pat) Boice of Millerton, her sister-in-law, Mary Faith Boice; a step-daughter, Beverly Hendrickson of Warrington, PA; grandchildren William (Topher) (Jamie) Hunt, Stewart (Stephanie) Hunt, Hillary Boothby, Abby Boothby; great grandchildren of Joshua Perrier, and Emily Christina Hunt. several nephews, nieces and great great nieces and nephews.
Marjorie was a homemaker for several years and then worked at the Pepe's Tavern. The Ancram Paper Mill and for Columbia County at 401 State Street.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, past secretary for the Union Cemetery Association, Life Member of the Ancram Ladies Auxiliary . Marjorie enjoyed reading, crocheting and was a tag sale junkie.
She also enjoyed traveling with her friends over the years throughout the country.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 7749 South Main St. Pine Plains, NY.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM on Friday, May 20, 2016 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ancram, with Deacon Jackie Jefferson, officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Ancram, NY.
