Marion M. Sperry

Hillsdale, NY - Marion M. Sperry, 92, of West End Rd. in Hillsdale, NY passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Fairview Commons in Gt. Barrington, MA.

She was born on July 21, 1918 in Ackermanville, PA the daughter of the late Eli and Sovilla (Goodyear) Ackerman.

She was a graduate of Bangor Pennsylvania High School.

She was also very active in the Guiding Eyes for the Blind in Yorktown Heights as a puppy raiser.

Mrs. Sperry was a skilled seamstress with many of her handicrafts being sent internationally as well as being donated to civic organizations.

Survivors include five sons, Richard of Cathy's Valley, CA, Donald of Rhinebeck, NY, Daniel of Seffner, FL, Robert of Boise ID, and William of Granville, MA; a daughter, Susan of Hillsdale, NY; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Howard W. Sperry in 1992, a son, Dale in 2006, a brother, Jay Ackerman and a sister, Velma Buskirk.

There are no calling hours.

Funeral service and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
