Marilyn A. Kells, 80 of Ancram, NY died peacefully on Wednesday January 8, 2014 at Livingston Hills Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on May 14, 1933 in Manhattan the daughter of Irving and Marie (Weppler) McGough.

She was a graduate of Dominican Commercial High School and had worked for the Bank of Manhattan. After her marriage to her childhood sweetheart, Abram "Sonny" Kells on June 7, 1953 she settled in to become a homemaker and raise their three children. Later in life she worked as a schedule coordinator for a Plastic Surgeon's Group in Garden City, Long Island.

Marilyn had been a full time resident of Ancram for the past 20 years. The family had built their retirement home here in 1975.

She was a communicant of Our Lady of Hope Parish in Copake Falls and along with her husband had previously led marriage encounter groups and Pre - Cana counseling. Marilyn was longtime member of the Roe Jan Young at Hearters in Copake, NY.

Survivors include her husband Abram "Sonny" Kells of Ancram; three children, Thomas Kells of Greeneville, TN, Patricia Kells of Smithtown, NY and Steven Kells of Franklin Square, NY. She also leaves her 8 grandchildren, Steven, Haley, Ryan, Owen, Wayne, Sean, Erin and Kevin.

Friends are invited and may call on Sunday January 12, 2014 from 2 - 5 PM at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 8063 State Route 22 in Copake, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday January 13, 2014 at 10 AM from Our Lady of Hope Parish, 8074 State Route 22 in Copake Falls, NY with the Rev. George Brennan, pastor officiating.

An additional period of visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2 - 5 and 7 - 9 PM at the Krauss Funeral Home, 1097 Hempstead Turnpike, Franklin Square, L.I., NY.

Interment will be held on Wednesday at Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.
