Marguerite “Marge” Jensen, 85 a lifelong Copake resident passed away on Tuesday April 24, 2018 at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn in Albany, NY.
She was born on February 2, 1933 in Taghkanic, NY a daughter of Robert G. and Margaret (Coleman) Riegel.
Prior to her retirement Marge had been employed as a broker with the Brad Peck Insurance Agency in Copake for over 58 years.
She was a graduate of Roeliff Jansen High School, class of 1951. Marge was an active member of the West Copake Reformed Church and served as a deacon. She was a member of the Roe Jan Area Young at Hearter’s, enjoyed her numerous trips to Aruba and was a member of the “lunch bunch”.
Survivors include her daughters and son in laws , Cynthia and Glenn Schermerhorn, Sandra and Brenton Anderson and her son and daughter in law Harold and Heathar Jensen. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Shawn Jensen, Ashley Stalker, Victoria Jensen, Dustin Jensen, Alison Schermerhorn, Grayson Schermerhorn and Hunter Anderson. Also three great grandchildren, Nash Jensen, Timothy Stalker and Dixie Jensen.
In addition to her parents she was pre deceased by a brother, Harold Riegel.
Friends are invited and may call on Saturday April 28, 2018 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, Route 22 in Copake, NY.
Funeral services will be held also on Saturday at 11:30 AM from the West Copake Reformed Church with the Rev. Warren Siebert, pastor officiating.
Interment will be in the West Copake Cemetery.
