Margaret A. Coon

Amenia, NY - Margaret A. "Peggy" Coon, 78, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Sharon Health Care Center in Sharon, CT.

She was born on October 23, 1934 in Sharon, CT the daughter of the late John and Agnes (Mulligan) Thomas.

Early on Peggy worked on her Family's farm in Sharon. On July 31, 1965 she married Garrison Van Vliet Coon and raised two daughters in Amenia, NY. Peggy then worked in food service at the Webutuck Central School District. Most recently she was a faithful presence at The Bargain Barn in Sharon, CT.

Survivors include her daughter Sarah A. Coon, along with many other family members and wonderful friends, most all of whom are close by in the Dutchess and Litchfield regions. She was predeceased by her husband, Garry Coon in 2000 and a daughter Joyce A. Coon in 2006.

There are no calling hours.

A funeral service will be celebrated at 1:30 PM on Thursday, January 31, from the Smithfield Presbyterian Church, 656 Smithfield Valley Rd. Amenia, NY, with Lynn Boyer officiating.

Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
