SPEECH - LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST M.S. CCC - SLP Lynn Margaret (Rachel) Ary, age 52 of Accord, NY passed away on Saturday October 15, 2011 at her residence.

She was born on April 17, 1959 in Gt. Barrington, MA to Rev. Joseph and Faye (Smith) Ary of Copake, NY.

Ms. Ary was a graduate of Red Hook Central Schools and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Wagner College. She attained her Master of Science in Education from the State University of New York at New Paltz, a graduate of both the Summer Vocology Institute for Voice and Speech along with the University of the State of New York Speech - Language Pathologist Education Department. Additionally, Lynn received a Master of Fine Arts in Drama from the University of Oklahoma.

She began her practice in 1995, being certified by both the American Speech - Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) and the New York State Hearing and Language Association. In 2001 she worked in Hastings, England as both the outpatient voice specialist and pediatric specialist for a clinic and special needs school. In the United States and United Kingdom she has presented training workshops to families and colleagues on Integarting Speech and Sensory, various vocal topics and Childhood Apraxia of Speech. She opened a private practice in Kingston in 2003 and relocated to Accord in 2009.

Throughout her professional career she often did pro - bono work and served her clients and their families with great commitment and compassion.

Lynn loved to travel abroad, visiting many European countries. Together with friend Kim Baran they shared the pleasure of being the last foreigners allowed to sing at St. Mark's Cathedral in Venice, Italy.

She is survived by her husband Alan Gill of Accord, NY and his son, Derek Gill of Portland, OR; her parents, Rev. Joseph and Faye Ary of Copake, NY and her brother and sister in law, Joe and Dru Ary of Hillsdale, NY. Lynn also leaves her nieces, April Jo Ary - Whalen and husband Dave and Hollie Ary, an aunt, Jean Poulemanous and cousins, Steve, Linda, Timothy, Michael and Tom.

Funeral services will be held on Friday October 21, 2011 at 11 AM from the Copake United Methodist Church, Church St. in Copake with the Rev. Jae Joon Lee and the Rev. Gerard Pollock officiating.

Friends are invited and may call on Thursday October 20, 2011 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 8063 State Route 22 in Copake, NY (518)329-2121.

Interment will be in the Copake Cemetery.

A reception for family and friends will follow the commital at the Methodist Church House.
