Luke J. Mccarthy

Luke John McCarthy, 49, passed away on June 28, 2024 at Vassar Brother Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was born in Hudson on August 14, 1974 to the late John McCarthy and Theresa Traver and her husband Vinny.

Luke was a project manager for Lynn Utilities out of Wappingers Falls and was a dedicated hard worker. He was also a huge outdoorsman who enjoyed everything nature had to offer. Hunting, snowmobiling, fishing and boating were his passions. He also enjoyed camping and traveling with his wife. Together they spent many days in Canada and Old Forge. Above all else Luke loved his family and friends.

Luke is survived by his loving wife, Lorry McCarthy. His brother Michael and his wife Michele, and his sister Angela McCarthy and her significant other, Michael Orlandi. He is also survived by his nieces & nephews; Cody, Micaela, Cahlyn, Evan, Ryan & Kendal. In addition to his stepfather, Stan Taft and his wife Debbie, his step brother Andrew Taft and brother in law to Larry Lynn and his wife Maureen.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 2:00PM from Peck & Peck Funeral Homes, 7749 S. Main Street, Pine Plains. A time for family and friends to gather and share memories and offer condolences will begin at 12:00pm also on Wednesday. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Pine Plains. In lieu of flowers, donations in Luke’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
