Loren Wayne Wheeler,   October 2, 1934 – April 27, 2018

Loren was born in Salina Kansas, the son of Chet and Helen Wheeler. He graduated with business degrees from Kansas University and Denver University, worked for FW Woolworth, then as a manufacturer’s representative at the National Headquarters of FW Woolworth in NYC. Simultaneously he served as President and Treasurer at the New York Theosophical Society Lodge in NYC.

Loren served as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for Pumpkin Hollow Foundation from 1980 until his passing. Loren commuted from NYC to Pumpkin Hollow for 27 years working to sustain and maintain Pumpkin Hollow Retreat Center. Retiring in 1999 he joined his wife to be in residence at Pumpkin Hollow, where he volunteered fulltime. Loren was custodian of the sanctuary grounds which he served devotedly until his passing.

Recognized by all as a warm generou s open-hearted gentleman, with a steady vision for the greater whole, Loren believed in supporting community. Many people in business and service professions became close with Loren as they worked together at Pumpkin Hollow.

Loren Wheeler is survived by his beloved wife Carolyn of 44 years.  He is a loving father of Brian, Valerie, Eric, and Amy (and their spouses), grandfather of 9 and brother Don Wheeler- all of whom reside in Colorado.
