Lauren M. Kreig

Lauren M. Kreig, 85, of Churchtown, passed away on August 5, 2024 after struggling with recent health issues. Born in Hudson, New York on December 14, 1938. He was the son of Lauren S. and Marion (VanTassel) Kreig. He was a graduate of Hudson High School and went on to work at the Atlas Cement Company. A few years later he went to work at Hudson Correctional facility in the boiler plant until his retirement. He was a dedicated and hard working man.

In 1959, he married  Karen Kellerhouse, who survives at home. The home that they created in Churchtown which began in 1963. Lauren was an avid duck hunter and shared his passion with his son. Together they enjoyed the hunt and spending time together at camp on the Hudson River.

Lauren is survived by his loving wife, Karen Kreig, his son and daughter in law, Glenn and Kristin Kreig. His daughter Gail Brosen and grandchildren, Kyle Kreig and his wife Charlynn, Josh Brosen and his girlfriend, Meredith Landen, Ryan Kostzenskie and his only great granddaughter Stevi Joy Kreig.

In addition to his parents he was also predeceased by his son in common law, John W. Coons Jr.

Lauren wished that no formal funeral services be held. The family will hold a private service in the Churchtown Cemetery at their convenience.
