On Sunday, August 29, 2021, Kyle Thomas Germann, loving husband, son, grandson, nephew, uncle, and friend passed away at age 25.
Kyle was born on December 29, 1995 in Vallejo, CA to Richard and Michelle (Traceski) Germann. After graduating high school from Taconic Hills in 2014, Kyle went on to pursue a Bachelors in Business Economics at SUNY Oneonta where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2017. He was employed at Williams Jones Wealth Management in New York City. On May 22, 2021, he married his high school sweetheart Mikayla VanAlphen. They lived on Roosevelt Island in Manhattan NY with their beloved dog, Morti.
Kyle had a lifelong passion for sports. He was widely considered by his peers as a sports encyclopedia, and could speak expertly on many different aspects of various sports. He loved the NY Yankees above any team; he bled pinstripes. He also loved film, especially action franchises like Marvel and Star Wars. He was personable, friendly, the first to help with a joke or a shoulder to lean on or a hand up. He had a calming presence with his family, a vital sounding board for ideas and feelings. When you talked to Kyle, you knew he cared, and was not just waiting for his turn to speak. Although we know he loved to hear himself speak.
He is survived by his wife Mikayla, parents Richie & Michelle Germann, sister Alyssa Powell, her husband Dillon and niece Aurora , grandmother Marilyn Traceski, nephews Karson Andros-VanAlphen and Kaleb Hammel and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to visitation hours from 4:00 to 7:00pm on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Peck & Peck Funeral Home, 8063 Route 22, Copake. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday at 11:00 am, also from the funeral home. Interment will follow in Copake Cemetery.
There will always be a seat at the table for you, Kyle. And a place in our hearts that we can never fill.
In lieu of flowers, we will be collecting monetary donations for Animal Lighthouse Rescue in honor of Kyle. This is the rescue his beloved dog, Morti was rescued from. He would love for others to have the opportunity that he had with his “Mousey”. Donations can be made to Venmo account: Mikayla-VanAlphen. Please include “ALR” in the donation. All donations will be made in one amount in honor of Kyle.
