John V. Orlandi

John V. Orlandi, 91 of Pine Plains, passed away on August 5, 2023 at home. He was born on February 2, 1932, in Manhattan. The son of Vittorio and Mary (Sartori) Orlandi. John enlisted in the Air Force in 1951 and served honorably until 1955. In 1959, in he married Sonja Anderson, together the shared 64 years of marriage. Shortly after that they settled in Pine Plains, where he enjoyed watching and appreciating the wildlife in and around their property. John also enjoyed gardening and was especially particular about his tomatoes. He was an engineer at IBM in Kingston prior to his retirement. After which he and Sonja they enjoyed traveling and dining.

John is survived by his wife, Sonja Orlandi, son, Michael Orlandi and his significant other Angela Amelio. Daughter Karen and her husband Patrick Murphy. Four grandchildren; Meghan and her husband, Taylor Martin, Connor Murphy, Michael Orlandi Jr., and Brent Orlandi. Two great grandchildren, Maizie & Cooper John Martin.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, John Orlandi Jr.

A time for sharing memories and offering condolences will be on Friday morning, August 11, 2023 from 11:00 to 12:30 at Peck & Peck Funeral Homes, 7749 S. Main Street, Pine Plains. Then to St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, where at 1:00pm  A Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
