John H. Dietter, 82 of Route 22 in Millerton, NY passed away on Friday October 5, 2012 at Noble Horizons in Salisbury, CT.
He was born on May 21, 1930 in Ancramdale, NY a son of Ernest T. and Anna B. (Lown) Dietter.
Mr. Dietter had been employed as a machine operator with the former K & E Manufacturing located in Millerton.
He often performed as clown for the benefit of the Shriner's Children Hospital and other organizations.
Survivors include his children, Brenda Maillet and Gregg Dietter both of Millerton; Martin Dietter of Massachusetts and Barry Dietter of Georgia. He also leaves his grandchildren, Frank Maillet, Denise Manfro, Paula Maillet, Brian Dietter, Richard Dietter and Lauren Dietter.
John was one of 16 children and is survived by 5 siblings, Barbara Hurn of Ancramdale, Olive Shook of Stanfordville, NY, Janet Bartle of Winsted, CT, Avery Dietter of Ancramdale and Elwood Dietter of Millerton along with several nieces and nephews.
Per Mr. Dietter's request, services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
