John T. Bertomeu (Tom)

John was born on February 19, 1946 in Cairo, New York, the son of Antonio and Florence. John passed away at home on Saturday January 25, 2020. John was also predeceased by his brother Joseph.

John was a Navy Veteran having served his country from April 2, 1963 until February 17, 1967. Upon leaving the service he married Valerie A. Greatbatch of Yonkers, New York. Valerie survives at their home in Stanfordville, New York.

John worked as a Sergeant in the Dutchess County Jail from 1974, retiring in 1999.

He is also survived by his two children Renee Dallmann (Brian) of Pine Plains and Scott Bertomeu (Ashley) of Poughkeepsie and his six grandchildren Deanna, Nicole, Colin, Rachel, Sean and Derek.

Friends and family may call on Tuesday January 28, 2020 from 4-7pm at Peck and Peck Funeral Home located on Main Street in Pine Plains, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday January 29, 2020 at 10:00am at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Kent Wilson officiating.

Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery on North Main Street in Pine Plains, NY.
