Joanne Lee Berry

Stanfordville - Joanne Lee Berry, 74, a longtime resident of Stanfordville, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 24, 2012.

She was born on June 8, 1937, the daughter of the late Norman and Glen (Gero) Hartwell.

On March 7, 1955 in Lyndonville, VT she married George L. Berry, Jr. Mr. Berry predeceased her on February 13, 1985.

Joanne worked for many years as a school bus driver for the Pine Plains Central School District. She was an avid reader, and loved to knit and play cards. She was very family oriented and will be remembered by her many friends and family members as a jokester.

She is survived by her son, Glen Berry of Stanfordville, NY; her daughter, Robin Berry of Jamesburg, NJ; two sisters-in-law, Muriel Berry Wooden of Red Hook, NY; and Mary Hartwell of Clinton Corners, NY; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her loving husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Duane Hartwell.

Calling hours will be held from 10 AM to 12 PM on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 7749 S. Main St., Pine Plains, NY 12567. Funeral services will begin at 12 PM.

Interment will follow in the Stanford Cemetery, Stanfordville, NY.
