RED HOOK - Jessica Ann Wyant-Pendleton from Red Hook, NY passed away April 18, 2015 in Vassar Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Jessica was born on October 25 1971 in Rhinebeck, NY to Guy Wyant and Tina Chrisjohn-Wyant.
Jessica graduated from Stissing Mountain Junior-Senior High School in 1989. She acquired an associate's degree in Science and Math in 1992 and later an associate's in Fine Arts in 2002 from Columbia Greene Community College.
Jessica was an accomplished Iroquois artist. She used many mediums, her favorites were clay and color pencil. She was also a jeweler and a published author. She has works on permanent display at the Pequot Museum and Disney's Saratoga Springs Spa in Florida. A small collection of her work is currently on display at the RHCAN Gallery in Red Hook, NY until the end of the month and can be viewed Friday and Saturday 12 to 7 PM and Sundays 12 to 4 PM. Jessica always inspired creativity and encouraged artistic freedom in everyone around her. She organized a monthly artist trading card swap, a craft club with her cousins, ornament exchange with her family, and assisted leading a local Girl Scout troop.
Jessica is survived by her husband Matthew J. Pendleton; her parents Guy Wyant and Tina Chrisjohn-Wyant; a sister Jill Wyant; a brother Christopher Wyant and his children Anna and Rowelin Wyant.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 from 1pm to 3pm and 6pm to 9pm at Peck and Peck Funeral Homes, 7749 S. Main St. Pine Plains. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 11am followed by burial at Rock City Memorial Lutheran Cemetery, 1237 Route 308, Rhinebeck, NY 12572.
