Ines Svingala, 90 of White House Crossing Road Millerton, NY passed peacefully on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Noble Horizons in Salisbury, Ct.
She was born on June 24, 1927 in New York City the daughter of George and Sarafina (Gardella) Della Vedova. Ines grew up on Ox Bow Road Hillsdale, NY and graduated from Roeliff Jansen Central School in 1946. On November 24, 1949 at the Sacred Heart Church in Philmont NY she married Steven Svingala who predeceased her.
Ines was a homemaker; she was a communicant of the former St Bridget’s Roman Catholic Church in Copake Falls, NY.
She was a member of the Arc of Dutchess, The Arc of the United States, and participated in the Salisbury Fall Festival as well as the Noble Horizons Auxiliary “Festival of Trees” for almost 20 years. Ines enjoyed time spent with her family, traveling, gardening, crafting, reading, and going to estate and tag sales for fun. Ines was a pleasant, loving person whose kindness was appreciated by all who knew her. She had a heart of gold.
The family of Ines would like to thank the many staff at Noble Horizons who assisted her during her stay. She had grown to enjoy being part of their community and was a friendly face with a wave for all.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda G. Campbell of Millerton, NY and a son, Robert S. Svingala (Karole) of Verbank, NY. She also leaves two grandchildren, Sara Lynn Campbell of Boston, MA and Forrest R. Svingala (Krysten) of Alexandria, VA along with a great grandson, John F. Svingala.
Ines is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and her sister-in- law, Ann Farrere of Ox Bow Road Hillsdale, NY. Her brother Albert Farrere predeceased her.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at the Parish of Our Lady of Hope on Friday, October 27, 2017 with the Reverend George Brennan officiating. Interment was in the New St. Bridget’s Cemetery.
