Howard Henry Hotaling Jr., 77 of Elsohn Road in Ancram, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday October 29, 2016 at his residence.
A life long area resident, he was born on January 12, 1939 in Copake, NY to the late Howard H. and Idela (Turpening) Hotaling Sr.
Howard was a longtime employee for Kimberly Clark at the Ancram Mill.
He proudly served his country with the United States Army and was a life member of the Cadby-Shutts VFW Post #7552 of Hillsdale, NY.
Howard was a member of the International Paperworkers Union and the National Rifle Association. He was an avid outdoorsmen who loved to hunt and fish.
On January 20, 1984 in Ancram he married Dorothea (Gransbury) Hotaling who survives him at home.
Surviving besides his wife are his children, Marsha Mills of Long Island, NY; Michael Hotaling of Hillsdale, NY; Tammy Hotaling-Hasbrouck of Greenport and Tina Garcia of San Antonio, TX. Also his grandchildren, Matthew and Gregory Mills, Lindsie and Melissa Hotaling, Michael Durant Sr., Matthew, William III and Tayla Sill, Mandy Hasbrouck and Martin Kellerhouse and great grandchildren, Breanna and Sophia Durant. In addition he leaves his siblings, Joseph Hotaling of Hudson, NY and Della Hotaling of Chico, CA.
He was pre deceased by a daughter, Brenda Hotaling; a grand daughter Melody Hasbrouck along with siblings, Leroy, Walter and Norma.
Friends are invited and may call on Thursday November 3, 2016 from 11:00-1:00 at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, Route 22 in Copake, NY.
Funeral services will follow at 1 PM with the Rev. Kenneth Phesay officiating.
Interment with military honors will be in the Copake Cemetery.
