Ancram- Henry "Pat" R. Hoysradt, 97, of Ancram, NY, passed away peacefully at the Sharon Healthcare Center in CT this past Thursday, August 13 surrounded by his loving family.

Born on May 7, 1918, he was the son of Henry J. and Leila (Niver) Hoysradt.

Pat, a Pine Plains graduate, attended the Berkshire School in Sheffield, MA, as well as Williams College in Williamstown, MA. He later owned and operated a dairy farm.

In 1940 he married the love of his life, Helen Jessup, in Ancramdale, NY. Mrs. Hoysradt survives him at the Sharon Health Center. His final years were spent loving and caring for his wife.

A true Yankee to the core, Pat played four years of professional baseball with the Yankee Organization from 1938-1941. A standout athlete with a promising baseball career ahead of him, as a young man Pat moved on to establish his farm and build a family with his wife, Helen, that has grown to over 25 grandchildren and great-grandchildren today. His love of baseball continued as a dedicated fan of the New York Yankees; Pat could discuss the strengths and weaknesses of their roster in great detail from the days of Maris and Mantle to the final weeks of his life.

Pat was very active in the community. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church as well as a former council member, a life time member of the Ancram Fire Co, and a member of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Columbia County. Pat was also in the Dutchess County Hall of Fame for both baseball and basketball.

A man of immense faith, quiet strength and unwavering dedication to family, Pat has been a pillar of the community for nearly a century. Despite his modest nature, his character inspired deep respect and admiration from all who knew him. Pat's legacy lives on through his family who will still feel the powerful strength of his character long after his passing.

In addition to his loving wife, Pat is survived by his children, daughters Judith Hatch of Stamford and Susan Hamburger of Clinton Corners; sons, Russell of Newfoundland, Canada, David of Ancram, and Daniel of Copake Lake; as well as 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded by sisters Carrie Kennedy and Gladys Doty; sons Henry and Patrick; and granddaughter Amee VanTassell.

Visitation will be held at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 7749 S. Main St., Pine Plains, on Tuesday, August 18, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 11 am at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ancram, NY with Deacon Jackie Jefferson officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at Evergreen Cemetery. A reception will follow the service on Wednesday at the Ancram Fire House.
