Helen M. Swart

Sharon - Helen M. Swart, 79, a former resident of Pine Plains, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the Sharon Health Care Center in Sharon, CT.

She was born on November 7, 1932 in Gallatin, NY, the daughter of the late Harry and Ida (Cookingham) Hoffman.

Helen worked as an aide for Taconic D.D.S.O. in Wassaic, NY.

She is survived by her son, Timothy Swart and his wife Joan of Pine Plains, NY; and two daughters, Tammy Athanas of Arlington, TX; and Tracy Hubbard of Millbrook, NY; her grandchildren, Andrea Swart of Poughkeepsie, NY, Danielle Swart of New Paltz, NY, Kristen Dickey of Ft. Worth, TX, Becky Prisco of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, John Hubbard of Nantucket, MA; step-grandchildren, David McGhee of Clinton Corners, NY and Matthew McGhee of Red Hook, NY; great-grandchildren, Jackson Coultas, Blake Dickey, Emerson Dickey, Keegan Prisco and Brynna Prisco; step great-grandchildren, Julianna and Matthew McGhee; a sister, Mary Ella Wesley of Hudson Falls, NY and a brother Gary Hoffman of Ancramdale, NY; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, a brother Harry Hoffman, a sister Erna Miclette, a grandson, Christopher Swart, a son-in-law, John Hubbard, Sr., and a daughter-in-law, Cindy Swart.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 9 AM to 12 PM at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 7749 S. Main St., Pine Plains, NY 12567.

Funeral services will begin at 12 PM at the funeral home, with Rev. William Mayhew officiating.

Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
