Helen was predeceased by her brother Roger Germond, sister Emily Germond, and her loving husband Austin Knickerbocker. They were married for 56 years.

Helen was “down to earth” and knew how to be self-sufficient. She provided a steady example to her family on how to approach life and be content. She loved canning fresh fruits along with vegetables she grew, baking, and making delicious meals on her cast iron cook stove. She loved song birds, music, and playing the piano after dinner. She was a wonderful homemaker, talented at upholstering, sewing, and knitting clothes. She and Austin were fond of making trips to Myrtle Beach, Florida, and the camp at Copper Lake in the Adirondacks. She was an avid Mets fan. Helen showed her love by how she tirelessly cared for her family and passed down her many valuable skills. A most precious gift! Her warm personality and loving spirit touched many lives for the better and she will be profoundly missed by all.

Private family services and a celebration of her life will be planned for a later date.
