Helen Bauer Haile, formerly of Stanfordville, passed away peacefully on July 12 at The Remington Club Health Care Center in San Diego, California, at the age of 95. She had been a resident there since December of 2005.
The former Helen Agnes Zoeller was born December 11, 1914 in Brooklyn, New York. She married George Bauer on May 30,1937. They moved to Stanfordville in 1947, where they owned and operated George's Meat Market until 1967. George passed away after an extended illness on July 11, 1979. She married John Haile in December 1991. He passed away in October of 1995.
While in Stanfordville, Helen was a faithful parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church, and an active participant in Stanford Grange #808, the Tri Mountain Square Dance Club and the Forever Young Club.
She is survived by her son Richard Bauer and wife Milli of Hunter, New York, her daughter Judith Bradt and husband Douglas of San Diego, California, her son Thomas Bauer of Coronado, California, and four grandchildren, Lauren and Nicholas Bauer and Monica Long of California and Alexandra Bradt of Texas. In addition she is survived by brothers John Zoeller of New York and Frank Zoeller of California, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Bangall, New York on Saturday, July 31, at 10 a.m. There will be a rosary service the previous evening, July 30, at 7 p.m. at the church. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen's memory to Immaculate Conception Church or to the Stanford Rescue Squad.
