Hazel May Coleman, 101 of Pumpkin Hollow Road, Town of Taghkanic, passed away on Saturday December 14, 2019 at the Pine Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Home in Philmont, NY.
She was born on September 30, 1918 in Hillsdale, NY a daughter of Fred B. and Mina A. (Race) Jensen.
A homemaker, Mrs. Coleman had previously been employed as a waitress at Murray’s Restaurant on Copake Lake.
She was a dedicated member of the West Copake Reformed Church and a member of it’s “Lunch Bunch”. She was also a member of the Roe Jan Young at Hearter’s and enjoyed both crocheting and gardening.
Survivors include her son Arthur Coleman Jr. and wife Suzanne of Hillsdale, NY; three grandchildren, Brian Coleman (Kelly), Michael Coleman and Amy Elliott (Todd) along with a great grandchild, Miranda Elliott. She also leaves a sister, Dorothy Warren of Cairo NY along with several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Coleman was pre deceased by her husband Arthur Coleman Sr. and a son Allen Coleman. Additionally, she was pre deceased by her siblings, Minnie Hotaling, Fredrick Jensen, Blanche McWhirt, William Jensen, Beth Coleman, Harold Jensen and Barbara Brazie.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday December 20, 2019 at 11 AM at the West Copake Reformed Church with the Rev. Warren Siebert officiating.
Interment will follow in the West Copake Cemetery.
