Harold L. Riegel

Harold L. Riegel, 86 of Pumpkin Hollow Rd. in Taghkanic, NY passed away on Wednesday June 19, 2013 at Barnwell Nursing and Rehabilitation in Valatie, NY.

He was born on March 21, 1927 in Hudson, NY to Robert G. and Margaret (Coleman) Riegel.

A lifelong resident of Columbia County, he was a self employed carpenter.

Mr. Riegel proudly served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War and received the Purple Heart.

On December 6, 1952 in Ozone Park, NY he married Barbara M. Deckert Riegel. Mrs. Riegel pre deceased him in 2001.

Survivors include his daughter Teresa Riegel of Hudson, NY; a son and daughter in law William and Deborah Riegel of Taghkanic, and two grandchildren, Samantha Riegel of Claverack, NY and Robert Riegel of Taghkanic. He also leaves a great grandchild Brady and his sister Marguerite Jensen of Copake, NY.

Funeral services will be held on Monday June 24, 2013 at 11 AM from the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, Route 22 in Copake, NY. The Rev. George Brennan from Our Lady of Hope Parish in Copake Falls, NY will officiate.

Friends are invited and may call also on Monday from 10 - 11 AM at the funeral home.

Interment with military honors will follow in the West Copake Cemetery.
