Gretchen I. Lagrange

Gretchen I. LaGrange, 83, of Pine Plains, NY, passed away at home on May 5th, 2022, after a long illness, surrounded by family. She was born November 16, 1938, in Danbury, CT.
She moved to Pine Plains in 2002 to be closer to her family. Shortly after moving to Pine Plains, she retired from New York State after managing the state shop/commissary at Greenhaven Correctional Facility and Downstate Correctional Facility. She loved gardening, cooking, crocheting and reading.

Gretchen is survived by her daughter, Heidi Bitting of Pine Plains, NY, her grandchildren, Robert, Heather, Catherine and Christine of Pine Plains, NY, her great-grandchildren Chloe and Holly, her brother, Norman Newkirk of Seattle, WA, her close and dear friend Paul Athanas, of Pine Plains, NY and her nephew, Daniel Dundon of Oregon.

She was predeceased by her sister Mia, her husbands, Drew Williams in 1961, Alessio Bovino in 2001, and Arthur LaGrange in 2005

In keeping with Gretchen's wishes, no formal services will be held.
