Grace K. Kimmerle

Grace K. Kimmerle, 99, of Copake passed away peacefully on October 25, 2023 at Pine Haven Nursing Home. She was born on December 17, 1923 in Copake, the daughter of Stanley and Beulah (Palmer) Simpson.

Grace worked for 26 years as Secretary to the Commissioner for the Columbia County Department of Social Services. She enjoyed her many cats over the years and used to enjoy going out with the Lunch Bunch. She was a lifetime member of the West Copake Reformed Church. Having taught Sunday School for a good number of those years and also played the organ and sang in the choir.

Grace is survived by her daughter and son in law, Kenda and John Cunningham, her other children, Kenneth Coons and Victoria Parsons.Her niece Patrica Thomas and other extended family.

She was predeceased by her husband, Edward H. Kimmerle, and her stepsons, Edward F. and Robert Kimmerle.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at Noon from the West Copake Reformed Church, 2692 County Route 7, West Copake. Rev. Dr. Warren Seibert will officiate. The family will receive family and friends at the church beginning at 11:00 prior to the service. Interment will follow in the W. Copake Cemetery.
