Clinton Corners- Gerhard J. Glorius, 79, a longtime resident of Clinton Corners, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2013 at the Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, NY.
He was born July 2, 1933 in Germany, the son of the late August and Anna (Backhaus) Glorius.
Gerhard honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1954 until 1956.
In 1957 in New York, NY, he married Rosa Welz. Mrs. Glorius survives at home.
Mr. Glorius loved to travel the world.
In addition to his loving wife Rosa, Gerhard is survived by his two children, Christian Glorius and his wife Julia of Putnam Valley, NY; and Annette Glorius and her husband James Patrick of Warren, NJ; six grandchildren, Christiana, Alexander and Athena Glorius; and Kevin, Karin and Kyle Glorius-Patrick; three sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 PM on Monday, June 3, 2013 at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 7749 S. Main St., Pine Plains, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Church in Bangall, NY, with Fr. John Bida officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
