George W. Mackey Sr.

Hopewell Junction, NY – George W. Mackey Sr., 89, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Vassar Brother’s Medical Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY.

He was born on July 13, 1930 in Mt. Kisco, NY a son of the late Frank and Isabel (Welsh) Mackey.

Mr. Mackey proudly served his country with the United States Army from 1949 to 1952. He obtained the Rank of SGT. First Glass. He also received four Bronze Stars.

A member of the American Legion Post #0136 in Mount Kisco, NY.

He was a manager for New York Telephone Company in White Plains, NY.

Survivors include his children, George W. Mackey Jr. of Hyde Park, NY; Janis Mackey of Manhattan, NY; Diana Mackey of Clinton Corners, NY; a sister, Betty Davidson of Mt. Kisco, NY and several cousins.

Friends are invited and may call on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, S. Main St. Pine Plains, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 10 AM from St. Denis Roman Catholic Church, 602 Beekman Rd. Hopewell Junction, NY 12533.

Interment with military honors will follow in Oakwood Cemetery 304 Lexington Ave. Mt. Kisco, NY 10549.
